Frequently asked questions
1 Why does the battery symbol light up? (Fig. 4)
The batteries may be empty. Replace the batteries
(see chapter ‘Preparing for use’).
2 Why does the display read ‘Err’? (Fig. 14)
The weight of the person on the scales may exceed
150kg, 330lb or 19st, which is the maximum weight
the scales can weigh.
Perhaps the scales stand on an uneven surface.
Make sure the scales are placed on an even, stable
surface.
Perhaps the scales stand on a soft or carpeted
surface without the carpet feet. Attach the carpet
feet when you use the scales on carpet (see
chapter ‘Preparing for use’).
3 Why does the display read ‘0.0’? (Fig. 15)
The object that is weighed weighs less than 10kg.
The scales cannot measure weights below 10kg.
4 How do I weigh my baby?
If you want to weigh your baby, rst weigh yourself
and then weigh yourself again while you hold your
baby. The difference between the two values is the
weight of your baby.
5 Why does the display show the wrong unit of
measure?
You have not set the unit of measure you prefer.
Select the unit of measure you prefer (see chapter
‘Preparing for use’).
6 How does the gravity compensation setting
improve the accuracy of the scales?
The earth’s gravity force varies at different locations
in the world. As a result, you weigh less when you
are closer to the equator and more when you
are closer to the poles. The gravity compensation
setting compensates for this difference. When
you select the zone closest to where you live,
your weight is displayed with improved (absolute)
accuracy. This makes it easier to compare your
weight measured by these scales with your weight
measured by professionally calibrated scales as
often used by doctors, dieticians or tness centres.
